Finding a favorite instructor on YouTube and hoping to help her build her channel. I almost quit trying to do anything with alcohol markers many years ago after lousy experiences with supposedly "Copic-certified" instructors. Then I found Amy Shulke teaching at a private store and was instantly hooked on Copics and Prismacolor pencils. </p><p>All of the work in this post is from early 2015 to mid-2016. Personal events in my life interfered with continuing and by the time I was ready to resume, the pandemic had changed everyone's life. To see what Amy might bring to your coloring experience, please check out <a href="https://www.youtube.com/@AmyShulke" target="_blank">Amy's YouTube Channel</a>. </p><p>Here are my results from those classes years ago. I still use the techniques and apply them to my cardmaker projects. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiMi9hcR9uscTrvdhR6fNVUE6dSyPvzF4W3Wne6DykVHxQeHTjXRr3uMkdLog8OulPaFFq6E0mLVP6WPlIWFT0emsaJRBj8KfHIvSv0DlLWvaGZB7eCvow2EBpOBaMH79mHuFKlDoZvOWR1mw1KI0anAPYsm8vbL1KAvyLW1xP7rsODhF4ewKbS07S6/s1200/1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; Of the online events I've been part of, theirs has offered the most per event and been the most organized, even when unexpected things occurred behind the scenes. </p><p>The first day featured what would have been "Make & Take" projects in a live event. This first card features a stamp, die, and stencil from Photoplay.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-73zWPcv1hn7bsr6vzAa6GIskc218Gi_3-_pb0jx1djj9fGD1EaorNiJ8vx6V4iR7rJcmHOc1ve_1tkc7cLP6ocCQdJdn72Ei9N8lfV7Wd3cL5ZUn9yTrzKslUJ0J1Utuhsh7FLwdc0xx1hHkeuDZWEFIbWkHLu6bkCGE8vqt_zlqKRfDCk0PhBFP/s500/6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="500" data-original-width="398" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-73zWPcv1hn7bsr6vzAa6GIskc218Gi_3-_pb0jx1djj9fGD1EaorNiJ8vx6V4iR7rJcmHOc1ve_1tkc7cLP6ocCQdJdn72Ei9N8lfV7Wd3cL5ZUn9yTrzKslUJ0J1Utuhsh7FLwdc0xx1hHkeuDZWEFIbWkHLu6bkCGE8vqt_zlqKRfDCk0PhBFP/w510-h640/6.jpg" width="510" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">This card is a stitched Hi die from Spellbinders. This card uses a Spellbinders die to create the card which folds flat for mailing. The small die cuts added as embellishments are from the same set, Baby Step Block Card S6-134. The print papers are odd pieces from my stash. This went to a sweet little girl in South Carolina that I haven't met yet. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiWKO9zs-m5QTf5aLpvnbOWVE34O-Z7G0KWOj94HfDiuHvzTNSFFRrfr63AiZjPzxqYSh_r6o3NE95G5Pdc28CcBjMJUMqqWyZWtac3tHBBlTQ2pSqTIbzmnINGy4ca1aO1Z6O1ePNR85KouTk-5rhfNqzJDt2oHu7hlE-tsyoBvKw6CaRMzsQ7NQ9-=s2016" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1512" data-original-width="2016" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiWKO9zs-m5QTf5aLpvnbOWVE34O-Z7G0KWOj94HfDiuHvzTNSFFRrfr63AiZjPzxqYSh_r6o3NE95G5Pdc28CcBjMJUMqqWyZWtac3tHBBlTQ2pSqTIbzmnINGy4ca1aO1Z6O1ePNR85KouTk-5rhfNqzJDt2oHu7hlE-tsyoBvKw6CaRMzsQ7NQ9-=w640-h480" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgIcDijuzOg_wiMOK2LPCtcIUOdqZpEO1TX7eXV4mNg9fogpJ_yp6kO2k2Ot2zHIJo0zcvV7CUmE3EGrvm5OjylxxYCmkKgUR44SytHukqgvTUy9UrSbwRIWCRlYWp0ZliRZwVpruNKL3weDdwqpK3ukQzqkR_49SHgGv1Rd5NsAlVpRdAvL4fwUAxc=s2016" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1512" data-original-width="2016" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgIcDijuzOg_wiMOK2LPCtcIUOdqZpEO1TX7eXV4mNg9fogpJ_yp6kO2k2Ot2zHIJo0zcvV7CUmE3EGrvm5OjylxxYCmkKgUR44SytHukqgvTUy9UrSbwRIWCRlYWp0ZliRZwVpruNKL3weDdwqpK3ukQzqkR_49SHgGv1Rd5NsAlVpRdAvL4fwUAxc=w640-h480" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhi3DALaHp_61ltgUsVf7vQU1wjMpZLaIpiJ6Og53Sbwlax2HReHuhm_na787QqvpKpD55bQz-ejfB2hjEbSDddjKuI9dkpXRzP_ShLKaPGx9G8bGudfPxMOiKI_WkRajyzymM-y2X2cgouP-LCV9k-S0MW5kB7LxgT_rvqbQIL0iQ2BroPgBrJCVgO=s2016" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1512" data-original-width="2016" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhi3DALaHp_61ltgUsVf7vQU1wjMpZLaIpiJ6Og53Sbwlax2HReHuhm_na787QqvpKpD55bQz-ejfB2hjEbSDddjKuI9dkpXRzP_ShLKaPGx9G8bGudfPxMOiKI_WkRajyzymM-y2X2cgouP-LCV9k-S0MW5kB7LxgT_rvqbQIL0iQ2BroPgBrJCVgO=w640-h480" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjI0YiJky-7Q7J_Fm5m7ijYAJkTbM0SThZA9zmoM5M3-WCHrOh5VyLj2UGpZFXjusCfljGuiAfyoqqHvCLrGHH2SzvyjVZLN-g52AxrS_-aUnwNAmWxbKKMjVhfHq7j8w5EhOYVfo7AmtfVDh26p8bcxIdC6Yi86OuI9QDACQ6U2LCPFiw33M0MDYml=s2016" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1512" data-original-width="2016" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjI0YiJky-7Q7J_Fm5m7ijYAJkTbM0SThZA9zmoM5M3-WCHrOh5VyLj2UGpZFXjusCfljGuiAfyoqqHvCLrGHH2SzvyjVZLN-g52AxrS_-aUnwNAmWxbKKMjVhfHq7j8w5EhOYVfo7AmtfVDh26p8bcxIdC6Yi86OuI9QDACQ6U2LCPFiw33M0MDYml=w640-h480" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p></p>Knittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10194307677813885580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9075334971804642658.post-55436913455389423932022-02-13T11:21:00.005-05:002022-02-13T11:21:47.751-05:00When PlayDoh becomes Play Dough <p>I have a long standing tradition of giving money to my great-niece and great-nephews on their birthdays, but never just cash inside a card. This year, one of the boys turned 17 a few days ago. His cash became dough (which I hope he understood the slang term for money) inside a small PlayDoh container. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjroBEFDtJ5tdrSrsWEiFxi4t-7Ys4En9YfACGwvn-z2l8IT8FEmWmyA3KcuKlA0BUliLZ172f8gfWT50pSHlmIgrFLqoUcjkmXaSzehMKOOduB6eI4LWzCpxcJw71yX3CpoStAuiptjUOkEbrX7x8IUjHHThXVMxgV5u6vrbF6NZT3tsPnioPFyrlZ=s1668" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1668" data-original-width="1289" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjroBEFDtJ5tdrSrsWEiFxi4t-7Ys4En9YfACGwvn-z2l8IT8FEmWmyA3KcuKlA0BUliLZ172f8gfWT50pSHlmIgrFLqoUcjkmXaSzehMKOOduB6eI4LWzCpxcJw71yX3CpoStAuiptjUOkEbrX7x8IUjHHThXVMxgV5u6vrbF6NZT3tsPnioPFyrlZ=w494-h640" width="494" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiYPcvL2eG44rY8WwYonHllJ_ocIRA4qCObhEfx8UVsalMTCiHpwWGkgQ0_Z7YwrR-7sO0_xAAB0EtPWIx3EGhcWH7UJEW627AQCE1YuAs_bpkWk_hPFReZSgESaPWAMe4-YtKrUF18z-kTmqY2gZC4JU4Ew2pZ9Op6DFeaLbvTmeAuy3vsHK8--Ghg=s1668" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><br /><img border="0" data-original-height="1668" data-original-width="1345" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiYPcvL2eG44rY8WwYonHllJ_ocIRA4qCObhEfx8UVsalMTCiHpwWGkgQ0_Z7YwrR-7sO0_xAAB0EtPWIx3EGhcWH7UJEW627AQCE1YuAs_bpkWk_hPFReZSgESaPWAMe4-YtKrUF18z-kTmqY2gZC4JU4Ew2pZ9Op6DFeaLbvTmeAuy3vsHK8--Ghg=w516-h640" width="516" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjxJMSR95cCNMKjnZxshBH2iaCtfvMHnokXEKyE04-EOGtqtG2L8PBKCUGGNZCTkFqhT5-_vjvV5vDDUsm9CHS8hiaeAFkHMFXVpVV_lmokxU10EFcvGbd_TFWpXy4-VW955UaenIYC39NLWjjCbG35TvnX41ncIuModvFGEBuKZWMLsutlw8-zN7yX=s2190" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1668" data-original-width="2190" height="488" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjxJMSR95cCNMKjnZxshBH2iaCtfvMHnokXEKyE04-EOGtqtG2L8PBKCUGGNZCTkFqhT5-_vjvV5vDDUsm9CHS8hiaeAFkHMFXVpVV_lmokxU10EFcvGbd_TFWpXy4-VW955UaenIYC39NLWjjCbG35TvnX41ncIuModvFGEBuKZWMLsutlw8-zN7yX=w640-h488" width="640" /></a></div><div><br /></div>The die used to create the card is from <i>The Stamps of Life Happy Fold-It </i>die set. Every two weeks, participants received three stitch patterns to work on. Most pattern sections were 8-12 rows in height, the total number of stitches on the blanket was 200, the yarn was worsted weight. Most people who participated and posted on the Facebook page dedicated to this project used 4 colors of yarn throughout. I used one and only skipped the two pattern sections that required two colors within that section. I substituted a stitch pattern of my own and am happy with the result. I haven't measured the blanket, but it is definitely long enough! </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgZX6X7jbG5ywlTcLu6GYSaOix4wNyOezLbLwFjyg8PFdUEw1EbIj0X956uufEz0WyMpZ9T7tmxTTOt055Un4FJI0qXW8cR5x_Ca2eEKbOyHCUHZ32nPJNAYb21UxRS0Ap1nM5SE_TWK_5G050JliaKyeJGcdkpK0P5qSnz6POPOQM4D6_KIpomQSAK=s2224" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1668" data-original-width="2224" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgZX6X7jbG5ywlTcLu6GYSaOix4wNyOezLbLwFjyg8PFdUEw1EbIj0X956uufEz0WyMpZ9T7tmxTTOt055Un4FJI0qXW8cR5x_Ca2eEKbOyHCUHZ32nPJNAYb21UxRS0Ap1nM5SE_TWK_5G050JliaKyeJGcdkpK0P5qSnz6POPOQM4D6_KIpomQSAK=w640-h480" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>Knittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10194307677813885580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9075334971804642658.post-58116277927536233502022-02-03T12:21:00.000-05:002022-02-03T12:21:07.781-05:00Lunar New Year, Sympathy, and other card components<p>January didn't produce as much as I had hoped, craft-wise, but if I look at the experimenting that I did with paper arts and the continued knitting, I haven't done badly. </p><p>Sympathy cards are always difficult if you are making them when you need them. Not only do you feel a time crunch, but you are also emotionally involved which can delay or derail your creativity. I made this one using Gina K's <i>Friendly Silhouettes</i> which were from an online class where she was a guest instructor. There are other tree stamps that are similar. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEi63z9YH-C-XZPSiajnBzMej2hdrH-9hH-XDzw1ZHOSDEWf80Yx2E-iK2LydnkVSse5TrLkUMwEGeFoEfQBgJmQeF_inMuqUpKSL61W_P0CjI1AfVySWNhJz5JY918OTC44s1yh1Xc715YCuvlyo-0jOFJyJkw-mnDVI0zKpXaGQBO--M944gulkhtn=s1668" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1306" data-original-width="1668" height="502" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEi63z9YH-C-XZPSiajnBzMej2hdrH-9hH-XDzw1ZHOSDEWf80Yx2E-iK2LydnkVSse5TrLkUMwEGeFoEfQBgJmQeF_inMuqUpKSL61W_P0CjI1AfVySWNhJz5JY918OTC44s1yh1Xc715YCuvlyo-0jOFJyJkw-mnDVI0zKpXaGQBO--M944gulkhtn=w640-h502" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>Playing with products produced this tree, a new purchase because it was on sale and I liked the layers of the Sizzix die set called <i>Layered Christmas Tree</i>, number 664712. The embossing effort didn't go well due to user error while I become familiar with how my new machine works. This stencil, <i>Bold Layering Stencils</i> by Gina K would normally produce colored flowers on white paper or a colored paper of your choice which might limit the colors of ink you could use for the flowers. Yellow ink, for instance, over blue card stock would probably give you a green flower that was not your intention. So much for my idea of posting more regularly. Once upon a time, blogging was a social outlet. I followed people and they followed me. Most of them aren't blogging now, some have died, and I suspect others have also. Instagram just isn't my fave and frankly, I seem to be too busy to even keep up with this most weeks. This isn't good or bad, it is just the way things go. </p><p>The blahs aren't about blogging, it is just winter-itis with a heaping layer of pandemic fatigue thrown into the mix. Covid marches on, affecting many people, including some close to my heart. The good news is that they have all been vaccinated and their cases have been mild. I get out of the house but I don't go just anywhere, and I do wear a mask in most public situations whether the store or event mandates it or not. </p><p>Birthdays....ahh...finally something fun to talk about. My younger son had one and loved his card <a href="https://gigiscrafts.blogspot.com/2022/01/sun-and-moon-birthday-card.html" target="_blank">shown here</a>. A friend that I've known since kindergarten has a birthday at the end of this week. I made this card for her, using the Simon Says Stamp embossing folder <i>Magnolia Branches</i>. Coloring was done with Copic Markers, and the birthday sentiment was a Simon Says Stamp die. <br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgVLBXqPDkuMhe_-dv0eNK2D3btXKPpFZgzm0JHu0SHesMh3NU0_GcaKKZs5TmLPywqS39ctocdl5CderMkgZ66yajGeQuIzlBlF6gd-iCOyPSzd1P2bBCI5ty6ynhGlqtHMaWhl5HpjT_GsBvK7-GeFIaLuD6hCJIOhp8DSj0QpGgX7MzPBitGT1Rs=s1741" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1741" data-original-width="1370" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgVLBXqPDkuMhe_-dv0eNK2D3btXKPpFZgzm0JHu0SHesMh3NU0_GcaKKZs5TmLPywqS39ctocdl5CderMkgZ66yajGeQuIzlBlF6gd-iCOyPSzd1P2bBCI5ty6ynhGlqtHMaWhl5HpjT_GsBvK7-GeFIaLuD6hCJIOhp8DSj0QpGgX7MzPBitGT1Rs=w504-h640" width="504" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I recently made the same card in shades of pink with additional blossoms made from the Simon Says Stamp die <i>Magnolia Blossom. </i>The second photo shows the dimension of the additional flowers.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEigYBv_9mk6aA8IyUP16ulyL6i6g-VcD6mCqxgmczbpBcMNxaobvwOlODC8kumL5ZkSWLzc0Ho_7TDxE-VIc4XowenMgAnv5hTBiMcKME-wROfSYY9PZiowLC13V9WY-wRrwQLIFuXhFuv1zdNvs3A17yKQBI1Atn2-1t291_HhF9155X8fhE6qayhr=s1762" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1762" data-original-width="1353" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEigYBv_9mk6aA8IyUP16ulyL6i6g-VcD6mCqxgmczbpBcMNxaobvwOlODC8kumL5ZkSWLzc0Ho_7TDxE-VIc4XowenMgAnv5hTBiMcKME-wROfSYY9PZiowLC13V9WY-wRrwQLIFuXhFuv1zdNvs3A17yKQBI1Atn2-1t291_HhF9155X8fhE6qayhr=w492-h640" width="492" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgJJZ4igGl1VG8MAHPvWryhiu65bb8AGgMi92VLnl1CLFgTIL0Uud2h9hVz9NhqtcOUDiyinalIbBH83z7dBHJoH3O1rXwMSA6Utd2mlZlfD7RY7XSpfoVYD7zJaBSica33aLgN95rTLU-m-lj4CVEC2jayMhkI2EeBC2d4jPBtYgbLrf7cnuD68Xoj=s1919" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1919" data-original-width="1249" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgJJZ4igGl1VG8MAHPvWryhiu65bb8AGgMi92VLnl1CLFgTIL0Uud2h9hVz9NhqtcOUDiyinalIbBH83z7dBHJoH3O1rXwMSA6Utd2mlZlfD7RY7XSpfoVYD7zJaBSica33aLgN95rTLU-m-lj4CVEC2jayMhkI2EeBC2d4jPBtYgbLrf7cnuD68Xoj=w416-h640" width="416" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I am doing much better at keeping up with my journaling, just a few lines about the day done in what is sold as a planner. Each day is a column. My Sprocket photo printer creates the perfect size photos for those columns in portrait orientation. Last year I used a "serious journal" and my writing stopped being upbeat. While I do write for me, if someone reads the journals after I'm gone, I'd rather reflect on the positive things in my life and show how much I have always loved them. I use stickers and colorful pens, especially on days where there isn't much to say or that the sticker simply says it all. This is an intentionally poor photo as my son doesn't like his photos being shared (even if he is cute!). </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgjYVSIuYkxNZseN0Um-QCG6HcGBHnmymBxFEAtnr6T6KFQss2priJvi2r_BCbKi7Ue0xVFTwPmxUZqK0wE297LM7QhPc94jKQK4GR3iR2c1gqGTqQP8cJhz7okul1d57VXJYBoUXk1IThRH9l6h339-yJRcyxm0L88gg6anOQ1M1zkhBjVl0TwjyhL=s2005" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="927" data-original-width="2005" height="185" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEgjYVSIuYkxNZseN0Um-QCG6HcGBHnmymBxFEAtnr6T6KFQss2priJvi2r_BCbKi7Ue0xVFTwPmxUZqK0wE297LM7QhPc94jKQK4GR3iR2c1gqGTqQP8cJhz7okul1d57VXJYBoUXk1IThRH9l6h339-yJRcyxm0L88gg6anOQ1M1zkhBjVl0TwjyhL=w400-h185" width="400" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><p></p>Knittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10194307677813885580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9075334971804642658.post-55049463836116953082022-01-10T11:50:00.003-05:002022-01-10T11:50:22.836-05:00Impossible Box and Art Impressions' Beauty in Progress<p>The woman who cuts my hair shares my interests in paper crafts and knitting. It is directly taken from <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdHXV8yK9aA&t=929s" target="_blank">Shari Carroll's card (here)</a>, the only changes being the paper used for stamping the sun and moon, stars and greeting coming from different sources, and because I didn't have a stencil for the sun rays (for ink blending), I cut my own mask from scrap paper to create them. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhq9xTnZwJStqkPfUUBHz9SnuVAQXK1VSBCuC1TdYcc141n19CO0DgDm_Rwa4bVwPsEnoyaOHMT0pO-H8COdL6wXuEv392t8HcE6jIexhx3oZXdBUfuxfcSGnxLzbhCdR-E0Hfnz3f9kBAAO11zfIpFBqOIRsjHKmAo6FU7_XdJEiunEuKFJorPYgcP=s1580" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1580" data-original-width="1429" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEhq9xTnZwJStqkPfUUBHz9SnuVAQXK1VSBCuC1TdYcc141n19CO0DgDm_Rwa4bVwPsEnoyaOHMT0pO-H8COdL6wXuEv392t8HcE6jIexhx3oZXdBUfuxfcSGnxLzbhCdR-E0Hfnz3f9kBAAO11zfIpFBqOIRsjHKmAo6FU7_XdJEiunEuKFJorPYgcP=w578-h640" width="578" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiH8Kg10fxmjJnH4mGdz-dSAZ8zfidpQPpCRFiHHo9rnClDvWITXjVL_ZIckzSWNtcQYhI9-Zv2K45exeSbLF_qej1b6-3zy-I1x_vFxyr9Q3Qm3usB3iIEsLT-q11jzV5NiPemoLOqE_sELRKCcYKIW4vncg8L3SV5sRHFfhjZtIORQdbf1LSiiyn6=s1715" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1505" data-original-width="1715" height="562" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEiH8Kg10fxmjJnH4mGdz-dSAZ8zfidpQPpCRFiHHo9rnClDvWITXjVL_ZIckzSWNtcQYhI9-Zv2K45exeSbLF_qej1b6-3zy-I1x_vFxyr9Q3Qm3usB3iIEsLT-q11jzV5NiPemoLOqE_sELRKCcYKIW4vncg8L3SV5sRHFfhjZtIORQdbf1LSiiyn6=w640-h562" width="640" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjG-K63sUdFBp1IKN4EaaxzV3SmOkHoTTyT063Y4q3Zew6_D1Fs3bFi6HmLOLZEDk6xg1vTZ0ceXT3qm5wghC-LElN40TAOyDQD0qDwewm7EZn_FyKboH3b84y6svmagan_zd592AztM8kkTkrQth-4WGJ7NIv9iimTxKDMN3EZDpdD6ZuYBoUSn0DO=s2016" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1512" data-original-width="2016" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEjG-K63sUdFBp1IKN4EaaxzV3SmOkHoTTyT063Y4q3Zew6_D1Fs3bFi6HmLOLZEDk6xg1vTZ0ceXT3qm5wghC-LElN40TAOyDQD0qDwewm7EZn_FyKboH3b84y6svmagan_zd592AztM8kkTkrQth-4WGJ7NIv9iimTxKDMN3EZDpdD6ZuYBoUSn0DO=w640-h480" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>Knittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10194307677813885580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9075334971804642658.post-50477749594736697362022-01-06T13:03:00.006-05:002022-01-06T13:06:59.037-05:00New Year....new enthusiasm? <p>I hate to think of myself as being unwilling to change. I've certainly adapted to changes to changes I never would have chosen, but when it comes to social media, I can still be in control, so here I am. I'm not an Instagram gal and that is unlikely to change. </p><p>I have two Facebook accounts, but not for nefarious reasons. If I want to share a creation with other makers and not spoil the surprise for someone who might be the recipient of the sweater or card, that is the place where I will post. Also, when the world on FB gets ugly as it sometimes does, I can avoid it all by logging into my second account where only craft groups exist. </p><p>Writing this is mostly talking to myself but I'm going to attempt to share photos of projects here in case someone needs inspiration for a project. </p><p>I'm going to start 2022 with this which I made on New Year's Eve. I regret that I don't know where I saw this, but the woman who shared her photo said the idea was not originally hers, she saw it on Ravelry. <a href="https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/knitted-lights" target="_blank">Click here for the link to Knitted Lights by Leila Raven</a> I ordered the 66-foot spool of fairy lights from Amazon and had them the following day. The needles are size 11 needles that I seldom use (plus I have another style of size 11 needles), and the black board is a message board that I wasn't using. The needles are held in place with two small, clear Command (brand) hooks. </p><p style="text-align: center;">Not the best photo, but you get an idea of size:<br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEicK_q4LkIoecmvhvQzl4jmGs6ts7-dSHSQ_pA72_lwtyCl41xkcY6ArgqNpm3ziv9qx6vYLibDDaLpf8QH8BxyPyAZ5MfXV35AUbb6ah0hPqLCgnmmziP7cPbf2TNXVlrqDaT8SxjeD_f1M_m_m1sLNgN_izn96eiBKxwEHmfnB0vlpdDB7pkhbHYC=s1755" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1755" data-original-width="1338" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEicK_q4LkIoecmvhvQzl4jmGs6ts7-dSHSQ_pA72_lwtyCl41xkcY6ArgqNpm3ziv9qx6vYLibDDaLpf8QH8BxyPyAZ5MfXV35AUbb6ah0hPqLCgnmmziP7cPbf2TNXVlrqDaT8SxjeD_f1M_m_m1sLNgN_izn96eiBKxwEHmfnB0vlpdDB7pkhbHYC=w488-h640" width="488" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEg52AXS3oG8C3xmhVIq0_48uWoMnsz6EtAQyLB3yxAg4sfhV6bl4moJsebBCqriuTKVKnzFxayd4nWaLigvBPlZ8xgX8fDTDTcjNRDVLmvOMLJgqe_Ot6-heZITehfy65IRykxsU2awBY1oyzg-wphlJi_IYuIC5iI3KUw3dOQMkV8EOqR3p3jUS2s5=s1783" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1068" data-original-width="1783" height="384" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEg52AXS3oG8C3xmhVIq0_48uWoMnsz6EtAQyLB3yxAg4sfhV6bl4moJsebBCqriuTKVKnzFxayd4nWaLigvBPlZ8xgX8fDTDTcjNRDVLmvOMLJgqe_Ot6-heZITehfy65IRykxsU2awBY1oyzg-wphlJi_IYuIC5iI3KUw3dOQMkV8EOqR3p3jUS2s5=w640-h384" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">This is simply a stockinette stitch but obviously, rather loose. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEg7FulGwVdg8m2nmFJa1rCJ2JloxZub9Scz-HO0tyJz9bTCv9LnvnFmV1Kyqylms-G9lK4L3oTVe1esPa4pYuT-Qob72tkmz1VFLRt7bHzUWJl2z1LC_D3ShWvDs1FamHHjsjnaEg-IfO5Oxffe0LYiM-gLANhjk7vxiPUK_LxMxqWlJxUUXVISj3kp=s800" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="800" data-original-width="600" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/a/AVvXsEg7FulGwVdg8m2nmFJa1rCJ2JloxZub9Scz-HO0tyJz9bTCv9LnvnFmV1Kyqylms-G9lK4L3oTVe1esPa4pYuT-Qob72tkmz1VFLRt7bHzUWJl2z1LC_D3ShWvDs1FamHHjsjnaEg-IfO5Oxffe0LYiM-gLANhjk7vxiPUK_LxMxqWlJxUUXVISj3kp=w480-h640" width="480" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: center;">Here it is, unlit. I keep trying to get into using Instagram but it isn't "my thing", probably because I do much more on the PC than on a mobile device. </p><p>This became a sympathy card for a neighbor whose mother had died. The inspiration was Jennifer McGuire's "Lined-Up Window Card" and her tutorial is <a href="https://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2021/09/lined-up-window-cards-giveaway.html">HERE</a>.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTh5AnufE-oR6nS23IUv5mhKsYb_VZZGyNmGyKz2amIotj3a8CESethsW99YiUx9gw5IKBHyn2Z8ksaTJ4ihRgG4m6DkvZSuDBX5hT09d4xujXmoIzNUsFWh6caTYod5XdW55QFDgSi70/s1899/IMG_7867.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1899" data-original-width="1455" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiTh5AnufE-oR6nS23IUv5mhKsYb_VZZGyNmGyKz2amIotj3a8CESethsW99YiUx9gw5IKBHyn2Z8ksaTJ4ihRgG4m6DkvZSuDBX5hT09d4xujXmoIzNUsFWh6caTYod5XdW55QFDgSi70/w490-h640/IMG_7867.jpg" width="490" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdLFH7WbzZEzNVFCpA5I9Eo-KXAM8IHN5m1iAeqsSKeWsdWaeSWYfQnQFwKePZaZRdrWvKkWVnpJ73DXuFc5SaY6fSHqt6QCz2nFATyW4ks7AwNVSpOYiQ_xIQ3LB_TsJho7qnGCq0Xwk/s1942/IMG_7869.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1350" data-original-width="1942" height="444" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdLFH7WbzZEzNVFCpA5I9Eo-KXAM8IHN5m1iAeqsSKeWsdWaeSWYfQnQFwKePZaZRdrWvKkWVnpJ73DXuFc5SaY6fSHqt6QCz2nFATyW4ks7AwNVSpOYiQ_xIQ3LB_TsJho7qnGCq0Xwk/w640-h444/IMG_7869.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The stamps (<i>Beautiful Butterflies</i> stamp and die, sentiment is from <span style="background-color: white; color: #050505; font-family: "Segoe UI Historic", "Segoe UI", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; white-space: pre-wrap;"><i>Natural Silhouettes</i></span>) and cardstock are from Gina K, the coloring was done with Prismacolor pencils</div><div><br /></div>This sweater will be going to my son's coworker. I stamped the images for the fronts of their cards with stamps from Stamping Bella. Both of the grandkids have red hair. I did get the last picture as a keeper for that project, but all three photos went into a scrapbook. 💕<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCmdUw-JwEY-Be7EPocx7f0aCf8Gzq7BZiHhbqxdqgy16bOUr32cYZg4Y7biGrgaPeOhGa4viphJW_KbDpuI2CDEcflJuJ_XlKgri8Vq1lPfP9HcdmHdTX9v4wJoR4sko-HLudSw9uRn8/s400/14231730q7hqfW5l.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="300" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCmdUw-JwEY-Be7EPocx7f0aCf8Gzq7BZiHhbqxdqgy16bOUr32cYZg4Y7biGrgaPeOhGa4viphJW_KbDpuI2CDEcflJuJ_XlKgri8Vq1lPfP9HcdmHdTX9v4wJoR4sko-HLudSw9uRn8/w240-h320/14231730q7hqfW5l.jpg" width="240" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibX-MT9Y5-taFJnJWKNnmSxX-C_EAz8fSltMDv4VHETjUgKIB5H-D1uLr-dq3lSrK4tJYRjvn4rMofc3qPImEVwZeV2m4Z0rNivPI28P-MY_EiJ40ASg6PXwSaHxbZ3-KnqmwC4Hi_sIE/s400/1423173Z0LTGxCb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="300" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibX-MT9Y5-taFJnJWKNnmSxX-C_EAz8fSltMDv4VHETjUgKIB5H-D1uLr-dq3lSrK4tJYRjvn4rMofc3qPImEVwZeV2m4Z0rNivPI28P-MY_EiJ40ASg6PXwSaHxbZ3-KnqmwC4Hi_sIE/s320/1423173Z0LTGxCb.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMMPJYsArP5ovcwpkCkT0CuvKs6FnGDLturdwB9VHYBfmUhven9im3Cbj8Ae7R0fRNhhoQzspcBodZPxVXW8HGNXPtRd8Clby80kQYTy2jRvwCqhqBWRsFASrIyhCk61KbbhkDbYzkyjk/s400/14231554ItsSrXg0.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="300" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhMMPJYsArP5ovcwpkCkT0CuvKs6FnGDLturdwB9VHYBfmUhven9im3Cbj8Ae7R0fRNhhoQzspcBodZPxVXW8HGNXPtRd8Clby80kQYTy2jRvwCqhqBWRsFASrIyhCk61KbbhkDbYzkyjk/w300-h400/14231554ItsSrXg0.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div> </div><p></p>Knittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10194307677813885580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9075334971804642658.post-60395900033665365162021-08-16T10:59:00.007-04:002021-08-16T10:59:43.025-04:00My Granddaughter's Mermaid Party<p>Avery had a belated birthday party for a few classmates right after school ended in June. With a pool and expected hot weather, she wanted it to be a pool party with a mermaid theme. I made these invitations with the pertinent information on the back. The mermaid body is a die from Karen Burniston, most of the fish and seaweed is from various Lawn Fawn sets. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrcrLCc_x-4O9FaueXD2IYnJ7UlQmHs9QR_IwhyHw9WluRyp5torBL0EFTc8rL0Ilgm6wyf5e7OSxOK4n7HK30KdeguYZNfgYTFNuzQfc1dqjl-Jnu6dQ5P013gLatTTPpaOxpWeMHGCk/s1438/mermaid+invitation.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1438" data-original-width="1111" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrcrLCc_x-4O9FaueXD2IYnJ7UlQmHs9QR_IwhyHw9WluRyp5torBL0EFTc8rL0Ilgm6wyf5e7OSxOK4n7HK30KdeguYZNfgYTFNuzQfc1dqjl-Jnu6dQ5P013gLatTTPpaOxpWeMHGCk/w494-h640/mermaid+invitation.jpg" width="494" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">The guests had mermaid cupcakes after lunch. They called it C9 Summer Camp. Six well-known paper crafters served as camp counselors to registered members. The camp counselors were Kristna Werner and Lydia Fiedler teaching watercolor techniques; Laura Bassen and Cathy Zileske teaching Turnabout (a Concord & 9th patented stamp method); and Caly Person and Becky Roberts teaching 3-D papercrafts. Greg Cottrell of Concord & 9th acted as the camp counselor and host. All of the cardstock, stamps, dies, inks, and watercolors used in the items that follow were included in the kits sent to registered campers.</p><p>Watercolor classes were taught Friday evening. These two cards used the same stamp and colors, but the techniques were quite different. This class was Kristinia Werner's. I haven't added a sentiment to the first card yet as I am undecided. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcRiR-ouO0Xoha58jhIBBnqZgO-9TI2FqVfr0JEzgyQm0TtWf2B6Kl3IiD9RfaTzzdksf1i9mEhv04zIZI9m5kC4IO4CZf0vDvY5ZotnaMEnyLKl7ruephidreOvAKlcaNzaVRvGeXJYc/s1027/205907486_553554352475319_5457321288704623279_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="804" data-original-width="1027" height="502" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcRiR-ouO0Xoha58jhIBBnqZgO-9TI2FqVfr0JEzgyQm0TtWf2B6Kl3IiD9RfaTzzdksf1i9mEhv04zIZI9m5kC4IO4CZf0vDvY5ZotnaMEnyLKl7ruephidreOvAKlcaNzaVRvGeXJYc/w640-h502/205907486_553554352475319_5457321288704623279_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>Lydia Fiedler showed us how to make gray paint from the shades of yellow, blue, and red used in the florals above. Amazing! The gray clouds and lake scene isn't finished because I haven't decided whether to add the intended canoe (a separate painted die cut) or so something else. Creating the clouds by daubing the still-wet paint with paper toweling was a great thing to learn. So was using a wet into wet technique to creat rust on the VW van. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqc-DCk7PLSDlBa07r_yiFxqQ027TX5GustC0VGEqBSNPH8dabyneKxo6IOD6Z5BZIh4khr-B5C8SmZw4nz_Y9WaHfmf68UlWh1nIdfvMapJN2ZiA_JeFpzancwgx3riUSEZr6uDBMvHo/s1241/205195825_1915896185279686_8068983437741696417_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="509" data-original-width="1241" height="262" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiqc-DCk7PLSDlBa07r_yiFxqQ027TX5GustC0VGEqBSNPH8dabyneKxo6IOD6Z5BZIh4khr-B5C8SmZw4nz_Y9WaHfmf68UlWh1nIdfvMapJN2ZiA_JeFpzancwgx3riUSEZr6uDBMvHo/w640-h262/205195825_1915896185279686_8068983437741696417_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>This morning's classes featured Turnabout stamps. Those days are over for a variety of reasons that are my choices. Being able to take classes from home these past two days was absolutely great! I would love to have met these women in person but I know how meeting them actually goes when you are face to face. It isn't just you and them, it is you and anywhere from 49-199 other people with the same goal of talking to them! </p><p>I will definitely do this again if Concord & 9th offers another event, and am already looking at two other events that feature other instructors whose videos and blogs I've been following. </p><p><br /></p>Knittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10194307677813885580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9075334971804642658.post-45828786582198041222021-02-20T09:46:00.009-05:002021-02-20T09:46:47.920-05:00Valentines for my 3 guys and 1 girl<p>I spent a bit of time pondering how to make a Valentine Card for my 5 year old granddaughter who can't read most words yet. Connie Stewart from Simply Simple Stamping showcased this card fold on her site <a href="https://simplysimplestamping.com/pop-out-fun-fold-card-wow-them/" target="_blank">(Click here)</a> and I was sure Avery would like the layers to this card. I am currently in a sampler club from <a href="https://scrapbookandcards.com/sct-sampler/" target="_blank">Scrapbook and Cards Today</a> and that is where the birds and hearts print paper is from. The stamped birds on the front are from Lawn Fawn, the red and pink papers are from Stampin' Up.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzkdbrP1Je7fh96o2nbsxv0iIanJ-BkmXN9-Wrs2_LdNpL6MeZ56w8Y9DtC6p3mIo7fxLo5gWl9X41ZE898ZiAMAdI3NRcqtzdQtdjmFRBWZxLFeScP04EyDVsPhLO8_bDw0_RoZjyF_g/s600/z4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="469" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzkdbrP1Je7fh96o2nbsxv0iIanJ-BkmXN9-Wrs2_LdNpL6MeZ56w8Y9DtC6p3mIo7fxLo5gWl9X41ZE898ZiAMAdI3NRcqtzdQtdjmFRBWZxLFeScP04EyDVsPhLO8_bDw0_RoZjyF_g/w500-h640/z4.jpg" width="500" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4M5kLoKrRwq9XEf9F5-knpOxkvvIwXhwH8anvtLhp7E4cz-1Y1Na_XEkba5oxU54I-L7OBHRs-2QRAPbL4lA8bJ4qE961btIWZMtVAwYqI5tbZPzicRbA2dN8bKnRuUCf6LlBTXk-Z-s/s585/z5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="414" data-original-width="585" height="452" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4M5kLoKrRwq9XEf9F5-knpOxkvvIwXhwH8anvtLhp7E4cz-1Y1Na_XEkba5oxU54I-L7OBHRs-2QRAPbL4lA8bJ4qE961btIWZMtVAwYqI5tbZPzicRbA2dN8bKnRuUCf6LlBTXk-Z-s/w640-h452/z5.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg19zKmQINZL4z8f-AhwSGnx5Souisc2QLVgMHTiH4ywgCetQYtNWsn9xbH-GgTXXDFCDlEXRfyp7U9Q_1LYOjdvknCBF2-t6myVeugVgqczU-h_y5gyDTteAQwLaJn5rJd9HuetahKP94/s600/z6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="464" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg19zKmQINZL4z8f-AhwSGnx5Souisc2QLVgMHTiH4ywgCetQYtNWsn9xbH-GgTXXDFCDlEXRfyp7U9Q_1LYOjdvknCBF2-t6myVeugVgqczU-h_y5gyDTteAQwLaJn5rJd9HuetahKP94/w309-h400/z6.jpg" width="309" /></a></div><div>Her brother is almost 11. The pattern is called <i>Zick Zack</i> and is a free pattern on Ravelry. The yarn is sock weight, the needles are US size 2. It is all garter stitch, therefore, easy. In a roughly two week time period, I've had a bogus charge on one credit card (resolved, thankfully), incorrect items delivered for the first time in a long history of ordering from one company (in the process of getting the correct one and returning the mistake), a break down in accessing my email on my computer (but all is fine on mobile devices), and the handsets on my house phones have been resetting their clocks at random. He is a big boy so I made a size 2-3 (pattern designation on that sizing). It may be right for him by fall according to the photos I see on Facebook. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEICaCLiMFBrNMn0H17xHls_iJfrmi7ltj4M_TRWaqWe1A0nBnBvtAHyHMj4kcGfSz-5N2X5EVbCkG1hKBCUTNaXieIbKz5fFoNLVGyc-8cXfmftY21uI39FECwljr4nLVzN0799ma2Cw/s780/for+FB.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="394" data-original-width="780" height="324" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEICaCLiMFBrNMn0H17xHls_iJfrmi7ltj4M_TRWaqWe1A0nBnBvtAHyHMj4kcGfSz-5N2X5EVbCkG1hKBCUTNaXieIbKz5fFoNLVGyc-8cXfmftY21uI39FECwljr4nLVzN0799ma2Cw/w640-h324/for+FB.png" width="640" /></a></div><br /><p>Because the garter stitch hem wants to flip up on the bottom of the sweater, I may switch to traditional ribbing on the hems, and neckline also. I think I could eliminate that button placket with a ribbed neckline. </p>Knittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10194307677813885580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9075334971804642658.post-75349503080338209172021-01-18T11:26:00.001-05:002021-01-23T11:35:18.928-05:00How I feel about winter<p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Snowmen images and collectibles are cute. The style is called a waterfall card. When the tab at the bottom (where the silver cord is seen) is pulled, the four panels flip over one by one to reveal a new image or message. I've made this style before, but a die set from Mama Elephant, <i>Mega Flipper</i>, made this easy to assemble. The images and sentiments are all from Hero Arts: August 2017 kit Celestial; and stamp sets <i>Astronomical</i> and <i>Out of This World Christmas. </i>Backgrounds were done with white, black, and violet inks used on navy blue card stock with a spatter of silver paint to create the galaxy look. Images were colored with a combination of Zig markers and Prismacolor pencils. <br /><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAJ00Nh7s24Jnix4xgQixI5h-8TV36TfxWu_o5z1-1DFFDETOXkXb697qgLaVPUwJPZvmKV_bHI9OqdLfFgR8aKO9c4jnwdrtU2Cm4JYmY9lsMvkWUv0lzccXuVUDAg395Lt5fSMxXAcM/s450/B1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="359" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAJ00Nh7s24Jnix4xgQixI5h-8TV36TfxWu_o5z1-1DFFDETOXkXb697qgLaVPUwJPZvmKV_bHI9OqdLfFgR8aKO9c4jnwdrtU2Cm4JYmY9lsMvkWUv0lzccXuVUDAg395Lt5fSMxXAcM/w510-h640/B1.jpg" width="510" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-588mL2cWauZZKD7G7cR47T3S5QFPKC5imE_lEK41Wq_-CYFUaPZ3C6bZ2hWSQw3ylmLI9bbtbtxiLzXRsv0oLf4XsE6VS5jSSSMfpf7ZAqCbdOio4rBMD4iFRTbm_6OzJ69GoSqnv5I/s450/B2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="359" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-588mL2cWauZZKD7G7cR47T3S5QFPKC5imE_lEK41Wq_-CYFUaPZ3C6bZ2hWSQw3ylmLI9bbtbtxiLzXRsv0oLf4XsE6VS5jSSSMfpf7ZAqCbdOio4rBMD4iFRTbm_6OzJ69GoSqnv5I/w510-h640/B2.jpg" width="510" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTTI5nRK11IEmaoAfDTdRKcMmMpHyIsP2gxHALlmYPVeYCtWqViKvOY4IMVjgRUZZd3lrKIZ8UzhnxGd2yYxglaXCU1s83YkEJbnGrE3hAHKYLr6i9B9Lcn4X4T2WW1Ptatjjt9lm8BR8/s450/B3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="323" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgTTI5nRK11IEmaoAfDTdRKcMmMpHyIsP2gxHALlmYPVeYCtWqViKvOY4IMVjgRUZZd3lrKIZ8UzhnxGd2yYxglaXCU1s83YkEJbnGrE3hAHKYLr6i9B9Lcn4X4T2WW1Ptatjjt9lm8BR8/w460-h640/B3.jpg" width="460" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi09ssRldO6NuPoy1o0D57BdJVq3gakoc1vzFAPxp-ubdcYBmOO5rsD805GwQ3rjSVN1KpKUFW2d5pNN6tVEFe6GIc8lQvgaesIf_N9X4Pdpc3aOIekm-P6YQIEGp5ks981jEOHxfK0V6o/s450/B4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="354" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi09ssRldO6NuPoy1o0D57BdJVq3gakoc1vzFAPxp-ubdcYBmOO5rsD805GwQ3rjSVN1KpKUFW2d5pNN6tVEFe6GIc8lQvgaesIf_N9X4Pdpc3aOIekm-P6YQIEGp5ks981jEOHxfK0V6o/w504-h640/B4.jpg" width="504" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">I began this card last Wednesday when I had to take a break from the news. I never thought this would happen in the USA and yet there it was. I have kept myself busy with crafts, reading, and subscription TV channels to maintain some sense of personal peace during this chaos. </div><p></p>Knittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10194307677813885580noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9075334971804642658.post-75407229524958346472021-01-04T19:54:00.001-05:002021-01-04T19:54:07.570-05:00Put Your Red Dress On Challenge<p>I have not decided how I will use this card yet so there is no sentiment inside. The stamp, ink, and card stocks are all from Gina K. Designs. The stamp is Flower Child, ink is Obsidian amalgam, and card stocks are Turquoise Sea and Cherry Red. The colored pencils used were all Prismacolor. Black and white Sakura Glaze pens were used, along with a Copic multiliner and clear Wink of Stella. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi86oPZoFEbxNOSs8U5ibTJB8sR2XdITDXBfTusXwkvT1ILrCxLZ5Mb1F9LuuuPanDainKMO0-PvyLpK87X09XnqCrVa-g0-R4sO894Sc8zGmyUr3JfOrKioQ5DLpKcYnfCR7E9eIiuLK4/s600/136111470_1108363166267153_4826052781991863897_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="450" data-original-width="600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi86oPZoFEbxNOSs8U5ibTJB8sR2XdITDXBfTusXwkvT1ILrCxLZ5Mb1F9LuuuPanDainKMO0-PvyLpK87X09XnqCrVa-g0-R4sO894Sc8zGmyUr3JfOrKioQ5DLpKcYnfCR7E9eIiuLK4/w400-h300/136111470_1108363166267153_4826052781991863897_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p></p>Knittyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10194307677813885580noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9075334971804642658.post-91560470784243296242021-01-04T13:19:00.001-05:002021-01-04T13:19:41.441-05:00Welcoming the new year<p>2020 has ended but the new year still has the dregs of yesterday's coffee stains in the proverbial pot of life. That may sound negative but is only meant as an observation. All of the changes that need to come could not happen overnight, even if everyone was on the same page and doing their best. </p><p>In my corner of the world, the very small part that I feel I can control, life goes on much as it has for a long while. I talk to the same people although not always face to face, I read, make cards, knit, work on other crafts while maintaining what needs to be maintained. I was alternately busy, not feeling like writing, or wanted to keep cards and projects under wraps for most of the fall so I fell off the grid with posting. </p><p>A plus from this time of the pandemic was finding some crafters on YouTube that have been great to interact with. Before this, I didn't spend much time on YouTube unless I was looking for something specific. Most crafters present themselves as cheerful people and I appreciate that as much as I appreciate them sharing their knowledge. </p><p>Colorado Craft Company is now carrying stamps from Anita Jeram who has illustrated children's books such as <i>Guess How Much I Love You</i> by Sam MacBratney and also writing and illustrating her own books. </p><p>These images are from the <i>Party Time</i> stamp set. I am certain I will use these for cards this year, but these images are going in my personal journal, a new style that was a Christmas gift. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNEB1wi1p4iWfiBHWS1QQHKVA8cBi9PBQZolzN12I7zNZilrLvyPSf8YW65eQLxrMv5pbHCJRfTVkKsJpPPy59Alf0lyJNrvRDIjugNH3CxG3Gu4DkUa_V6y5W21EoOjajb2gEFrNLy3Q/s960/134978307_10218608371861944_849843772072658706_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="728" data-original-width="960" height="486" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNEB1wi1p4iWfiBHWS1QQHKVA8cBi9PBQZolzN12I7zNZilrLvyPSf8YW65eQLxrMv5pbHCJRfTVkKsJpPPy59Alf0lyJNrvRDIjugNH3CxG3Gu4DkUa_V6y5W21EoOjajb2gEFrNLy3Q/w640-h486/134978307_10218608371861944_849843772072658706_n.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><p></p><p>Coloring was done with Prismacolor pencils on Neenah Solar White 80# card stock. This first card used a die set named Eek-a-Boo. It also included the ghost that I haven't used yet. My grandkids aren't going out as a devil and skeleton, but I had them in mind when I made their hair a reddish hue and blue eyes. The jack o'lantern treat buckets and bats were included in the die set. The fence is a die from My Favorite Things. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2go5jR1wccGngTHFeTPk7jJVkFlGJisKgi4voKs3B4_XrhcaYtOwvKPhcQ3eJDymWwBPbZC8dai6XuWLtDY1UMgT6CImcwCTOS9SvJ6KxPrqANVY5LzS4N7Nqt16L9wvVQQZco2soxKQ/s1137/119219968_2407024969605001_8254735487306041709_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="864" data-original-width="1137" height="304" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2go5jR1wccGngTHFeTPk7jJVkFlGJisKgi4voKs3B4_XrhcaYtOwvKPhcQ3eJDymWwBPbZC8dai6XuWLtDY1UMgT6CImcwCTOS9SvJ6KxPrqANVY5LzS4N7Nqt16L9wvVQQZco2soxKQ/w400-h304/119219968_2407024969605001_8254735487306041709_n.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjibkBKJpThI5p5n5aUeUk1drHGBpW7sqdCUBeZM6LpD3krwQka2fRofxbSksYDh6ntBYDTaPhCPvDMHwQUhvDmYMQJVgQXgw3uMEfKuGsuDr9RxaETS9hxZHlArggozvXQdlAys3GWqFs/s742/119415076_1239502656383008_1727299033155001852_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="742" data-original-width="588" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjibkBKJpThI5p5n5aUeUk1drHGBpW7sqdCUBeZM6LpD3krwQka2fRofxbSksYDh6ntBYDTaPhCPvDMHwQUhvDmYMQJVgQXgw3uMEfKuGsuDr9RxaETS9hxZHlArggozvXQdlAys3GWqFs/w318-h400/119415076_1239502656383008_1727299033155001852_n.jpg" width="318" /></a></div><div>This card uses two die sets from Spellbinders.
