Birthday Cards

This card was for a girl friend's birthday. The stamp set is from Art Impressions. It reminded me of our Shipshewana Trip when she "surfed" the hallway on an upside ironing board. It was so unlike her, it was hilarious.

This card was for a dear friend's birthday. The style is called a buckle card, the stamps are from Riley & Company.

Using up yarn

I don't have a problem donating yarn but when I found a hat pattern that uses two strands of sock weight yarn, I decided to see how quickly it would work up and whether or not I liked it. It was a few night's of knitting while watching TV and the hat feels great. My younger son claimed this and another one in black and beige.
This one is a slightly different rib with a few cables thrown in. I think the color more than the cables make it seem more feminine. I'll either find someone who can use it or will start a donation of knitted hats. This style doesn't look good on me.

Candy Cane Door Decor

Yesterday was Veteran's Day. Leaves were still on many trees but that didn't stop 7 inches of snow from falling.  My son came after the kids were done with school and cleared snow. The Princess of Joy wanted to go out but her snow pants were in the truck. I didn't know if my son had left them there intentionally so I told her she would have to wait for daddy to come in. She knocked on every window, calling him, not believing that he couldn't hear her over the noise of the snowblower. She told me that she really, really, really, REALLY wanted to go out in the snow, adding she has never been outside.
She was much happier when daddy said yes and handed the snowpants off to me.
I stayed inside with Prince of Sweetness who was doing his homework. Never mind that I would have stayed inside even if he wasn't doing homework!
After they left and I had dinner, I made a dollar store craft. $7 for these items created a door decoration that will fit nicely between the front door and the storm door. I have one set of silver bells and a lot of ribbon left.

Combined Birthday and Anniversary Card

One friend celebrates her birthday and anniversary on the same date.  The die set that creates this 3-D bicycle is from Spellbinders. The sentiments on the sides of the baskets are from Spellbinders also.

This photo shows that it folds flat for mailing. After testing this, I kept thinking about "birthday" and "anniversary" and wondering how I could work them into this project.

I remembered that I have this dog punch from Stampin' Up. I cut two of them as chocolate Labs to look like her dog Sassy. It wasn't until after I mailed this that I realize I used Happy Birthday on both sides of the banner and accidentally threw away the Happy Anniversary greeting.
